Homestead Mayor & Borough Council

Homestead Borough’s Mayor oversees the Police Department operations and engages the public on community matters.

Borough Council deals with the administration of budgets, local development and future framework planning, building enforcement, and more.

Our Mayor

Betty Esper, the Mayor of Homestead, is lifetime resident of the Borough. She entered local politics in 1980 when she was elected to Borough Council. Betty served on Council for 10 years before becoming mayor.

A former US Steel employee, Mayor Esper knows first-hand where Homestead has been, and has remained an advocate for the community during the Borough’s most recent renaissance.

Borough Council Meetings

Council meets the second Thursday following the 2nd Monday with the exception of March. Caucus meetings start at 5PM and Business meetings start at 6PM.
